Ifeyinwa Ezeiruaku, a young corper who was beaten by a female soldier in Calabar, Cross River state, has been sent to Lagos. On Friday, September 24, she flew from Calabar to Lagos.

Nigerians were outraged earlier this week after a viral video depicted Lt. Chika Anele, a female soldier, demeaning Ifeyinwa. She humiliated Ifeyinwa, according to accounts, since she dared to disagree with her. Anele was seen in the video scooping unclean water from a bucket with a bowl and pouring it on the corps member who was on her knees. She was also observed hitting the corper’s head with the back of the bowl.
Anele’s actions have now been denounced by the Nigerian Army, which has stated that she will be prosecuted for her unprofessional behavior.
Ifeyinwa was redeployed to Lagos last night, and she said she was not humiliated or silenced by the other military officers during her interview at the airport. They sympathized with her and denounced their colleagues’ actions, according to her. She described herself as embarrassed and humiliated as a result of the encounter.
