Nigerian Police Force in Benue State under the operation called ‘operation znda’ has prevented a kidnap attempt on the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mkar in Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State.

According to sources two kidnappers who were contracted to kidnap and kill the Vice Chancellor were arrested when the team stormed Agbeede Town in Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State after a tip off.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Zacharys Anger Gundu had earlier reported a case of threat to his life to the Benue State Commissioner of Police, who then detailed Operation Zenda JTF to carry out the investigation.
The kidnappers reportedly confessed to have been contracted from Edo State to kidnap and kill the university don but decided to contact with the Vice Chancellor to demand the sum of Ten Million Naira in exchange for his life.
The Commander of Operation Zenda said the kidnappers were first traced through their girlfriends who upon their arrest aided Zenda to arrest the kidnappers in Agbeede, Konshisha Local Government.
The Commander said in a bid to give the people of the state crime-free festive celebration has set-up special patrol team to checkmate the activities of highway criminals who pose as tax collectors and metamorphose into full blown criminals at night, robbing motorists.
He however called on parents to caution their children against being involved in any social vices that could put them in trouble.
