Dr. Favour Okore Okwaraeke has emerged as the overall best graduating student from the college of veterinary medicine, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State, Nigeria.


Favour emerged as the best out of 35 veterinary medicine graduands who were inducted into the veterinary council of Nigeria.
According to Favour, his academic feat came through diligence, hard work, and unwavering parental support.
He went on to appreciate the lecturers of the College for their resourcefulness and urged students of Veterinary Medicine to show commitment to their studies.
The delighted father of the star student, Mr Moses Okwaraeke, narrated the challenges he faced in training his son, mainly regarding finance.
He, however, expressed his happiness that his relentless efforts have been rewarded by his son’s stellar academic achievements.
In another story, Thaddeus Ifeanyi, a young man who graduated from Delta State University (DELSU) with a second-class lower has called on the school management to recalculate his Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).
Speaking in a chat with The Punch, the now 32-year-old man said he from his calculation of his CGPA, he was supposed to graduate with a second-class upper, adding that he has all the records of his results.
According to him, the poor result the school gave him has caused him pain, depression, and sometimes even makes him consider committing suicide.
Reacting to his protest letter, according to him, a professor in his department discouraged him from continuing, adding that it will affect him when he decides to do his master’s, as no lecturer will reference him and his academic scripts won’t be released.
