Student Going To Study in Cyprus Ends Up In Prison After Being Caught With Hard Drugs

Cursory: 19-year-old, Daberechi was on his way to Cyprus for studies but ended up being arrested at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

It is quite unfortunate how young people indulge in things that are likely to ruin their lives. They expect things to go the exact way they envision them, without having a second thought about the precautions or consequences of their actions.

Daberechi is expected to be in Cyprus for his studies, but unable to get to his destination because he attempted to export 7.2 kilograms of methamphetamine concealed in a crayfish sack to Europe where he was going for his undergraduate studies.

It led to his arrest by the operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Femi Babafemi, Director of Media and Advocacy for NDLEA in a statement on Sunday, said the teenage suspect was intercepted on Wednesday, July 12, during an outward clearance of passengers on Turkish Airlines flight TK 0624.

While being interviewed by operatives, Daberechi claimed he was a student on his way to Cyprus for studies, but upon a thorough search of his luggage, he was found in possession of 7.2kg of whitish substance neatly concealed inside a sack of crayfish. A field test of the substance however proved positive to Methamphetamine.
