Cursory: At the upcoming convocation of Federal University of Lafia, 50 students will receive first-class degrees. Vice Chancellor Prof. Shehu Abdul-Raman emphasized the university’s achievements and commitment to academic standards, aiming for graduates to contribute to societal development. Efforts to address security challenges and prioritize staff welfare were highlighted.


At the forthcoming sixth, seventh, and eighth combined convocation ceremony of the Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa State, around 50 students are set to be awarded first-class degrees across various disciplines. This disclosure was made by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Shehu Abdul-Raman, during a media briefing held in Lafia, the state capital, on Wednesday.
The convocation will see a total of 6,499 graduates from the three sets of the university being conferred degrees. Prof. Abdul-Raman highlighted the university’s significant achievements under his leadership over the past three years, emphasizing the commitment to maintaining academic standards to ensure that graduates contribute meaningfully to societal development.
He mentioned ongoing efforts by the university’s management to collaborate with key stakeholders in the state to address security challenges. Furthermore, the Vice-Chancellor noted that all staff members have undergone training to update their knowledge in their respective fields, with their welfare being a top priority since his assumption of office.
Prof. Abdul-Raman stressed that graduates have been equipped with the requisite knowledge and skills for exploration and advancement in their chosen fields.

“Our graduates have been provided with necessary knowledge and skills in their various disciplines for discovery and development.
“They have received adequate mentorship that will give them the edge over their peers. The university leadership do not only train students to have certificates but also to prepare them to have potentials.”
