For this Hard Country?: Ibadan Varsity Lecturer Denies Giving ‘N76,000’ Each to 10 Students

Cursory: A university of Ibadan lecturer has recently debunked rumors circulating the net, stating that he spent a thousand dollars on students that were in his class.

A University of Ibadan (UI) lecturer, Bisi Olawuyi, has denied doling out dollars to his students after resumption.

The Arts teacher and public speaker issued a rebuttal via a Twitter post on Tuesday.

Olawuyi’s response followed the claim in a tweet that propagated his alleged gesture.

The post was made in response to a viral tweet, that the lecturer had given students who attended his class money.

The post read:

“One lecturer for art in University of Ibadan give 10 students who attended his first class 100 dollar each”

The tweet, which has gone viral and been published by blogs, attracted several reactions.

Some responders said they were interested in knowing how Olawuyi made money since universities’ teaching staff just called off its strike

However, he clarified that he did no such thing.

“My attention has been drawn to a tweet circulating that I gave $100 each to 10 students. This is not in any way true. Please kindly disregard”, the lecturer told the public.
