DJ Cuppy Launches Scholarship for African Students at New York University

DJ Cuppy has launched the ‘Cuppy Fund’ to provide financial support for African students at New York University, adding to her extensive philanthropic and academic achievements.

Florence Otedola, also known as DJ Cuppy, has launched the ‘Cuppy Fund,’ a scholarship program aimed at providing financial support to African students at New York University (NYU).

Announcing the initiative on Instagram, DJ Cuppy expressed pride in establishing the fund through her foundation. Cuppy, who holds a degree in business and economics from King’s College London and a master’s in music business from NYU, has pursued further studies, including a degree in African studies from Oxford and recently completing a fourth degree from the London School of Economics.

In addition to her academic achievements, Cuppy has made significant strides in the music industry, founding Red Velvet Music Group and serving as the resident DJ at the 2014 MTV Africa Music Awards. Through her Cuppy Foundation, launched in 2018, she raised over N5 billion for the “Save the Children” initiative in Nigeria. Cuppy’s philanthropic efforts have earned her recognition, including being named an ambassador for the Lagos SDGs Youth Alliance in 2021.
