Oladeji Olaide Ayodele, a graduate of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has been awarded a prestigious full scholarship by the Chinese government to pursue his PhD in Plant Pathology at Northwest A&F University, Shaanxi, China.
Oladeji, who holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Crop Protection from FUNAAB, secured the scholarship, which covers all expenses including tuition, accommodation, medical insurance, and living costs from 2024 to 2028. His PhD project, focused on the “Effect of Rock Dust and Poultry Manure on Nematodes Associated with Watermelon in Organic Fields,” highlights his academic excellence and dedication, under the supervision of the former Dean of FUNAAB’s College of Plant Science and Crop Production (COLPLANT). His achievement has been celebrated by the university’s student union and reflects FUNAAB’s commitment to nurturing ambitious and outstanding scholars.
