The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has opened an investigation into allegations that one of its lecturers, Dr. Samuel Ojogbo, sexually assaulted a 20-year-old female student.
According to reports, the alleged incident occurred on August 22, 2025, around noon, when the student was invited to the lecturer’s office. She later reported to police on August 28, stating that she was sexually violated during that meeting. The student was taken to a nearby hospital for medical examination and treatment.
UNILAG management has confirmed awareness of the accusation and stated that the case has been formally reported to law enforcement. The university’s Safeguarding Centre is also providing support to the affected student.
Adejoke Alaga-Ibraheem, Head of the University’s Communication Unit, revealed that a panel has been set up to investigate the incident.
“The public is assured that UNILAG is committed to conducting a full and transparent investigation and will ensure justice for all parties involved,” she said.
