Abia State University (ABSU) may increase the tuition fees payable by students at that institution.

The vice-chancellor (VC) Professor Onyemachi Ogbulu revealed at the pre-conference press conference that college students pay the lowest tuition per term, between N47,000 and N120,000, while other universities pay as much as N3,000,000, especially for medicines and law courses.
Onyemachi said that ABSU fees are almost free and were set 12 to 15 years ago. Unless someone says to pay N45,000 and take N1,000,000 as a subsidy, we must adjust our tuition fees.
5,712 undergraduate, graduate, master, and doctorate students will graduate at the 27th and 29th joint graduation ceremonies. Three outstanding figures will be commended, and three professors will be awarded the title of honorary professor.
To generate more income, the school management has set up a committee to be responsible for the introduction of new courses and other strategies.
