The Anambra State Government has banned the use of public school premises for social events to protect the infrastructure, warning that violators will face severe consequences.

The Anambra State Government has issued a ban on hosting social events, such as weddings, shows, and other entertainment activities, on public school premises.
This announcement was made by the State’s Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, through a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Dr. Ifeoma Agbaizu, in Awka on Saturday.
Prof. Chuma-Udeh stated that the ban aims to protect school infrastructure from damage and misuse.
“This serves as a warning to all principals and head teachers to stop using school premises for commercial purposes,” she warned. “Any principal or primary school head teacher found violating this directive will face severe consequences.”
The Commissioner instructed the Chairmen of the Post Primary Schools Services Commission and the State Universal Basic Education Board to ensure that this directive is communicated to all school principals and head teachers across the state. She also emphasized the importance of strict adherence to this policy.
