The Anambra State Government awarded a full scholarship to eight-year-old maths prodigy Chukwuemeka Nwuzor, whose skills gained attention in a viral video, covering his education from primary school to any level he desires.
The Anambra State Government has granted a full-time scholarship to Master Chukwuemeka Nwuzor, an eight-year-old mathematics prodigy whose skills were highlighted in a viral video weeks ago.
Dr. Nonye Soludo, the wife of the state governor, announced the scholarship after meeting with Chukwuemeka and his family at the Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia on Wednesday. The scholarship will cover the boy’s education from primary school through to any level he wishes to attain.
Chukwuemeka gained attention in a viral video where he accurately solved various mathematical problems, including advanced formulas and numerical equations.
Upon discovering that the talented boy was from Nibo in Awka South Local Government Area, Mrs. Soludo initiated a search for him and soon located his family.
During their meeting at the Governor’s Lodge, Mrs. Soludo, along with Chukwuemeka, his father, and his younger brother, tested his mathematical abilities using a calculator. Chukwuemeka answered all questions correctly, impressing everyone present.
Mrs. Soludo then declared her intention to sponsor Chukwuemeka’s education from his current primary class to any level he desires and to provide mentorship to help him achieve his full potential.
She stated, “Chukwuemeka’s talent is extraordinary. I am committed to supporting his growth through this scholarship and mentorship.”
Additionally, she advised Chukwuemeka’s parents to avoid pressuring him academically, suggesting instead that they allow him to progress at a pace that nurtures his talent effectively.
