“University Education is not for everybody and that is the truth…”

The State Governor of Ebonyi, His Excellency David Umahi, has said University Education is not for everyone, Vanguard reports.
The Governor who is a Civil Engineering graduate from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), said this while receiving delegations from the Nigerian Police Trust Fund, in Ebonyi.
According to the Governor, only Secondary School Education and/or Vocational Education are the basic education every citizen should have.
He added that the Federal Government can’t borrow 1tr just to meet ASUU demands, it’s unreasonable, he said.
He said, “Our basic problem in this country remains security, health and education. Let me say a little about education which is in our public domain and which is the ASUU. I think that our education system is not being properly articulated.
“University education is not for everybody and that is the truth. The basic education every country strives to attain is secondary school and vocational schools. These are the basic schools and when you have these qualifications, you will be able to use it either to start up something or to be able to use it to be employed.”
