Brilliant Nigerian lawyer Foluso Olusanya has won three prestigious scholarships, including the $40,000 NDDC award, to pursue a fully funded Master of Laws degree in Law, Environment, Sustainability, and Business at the University of Bristol, UK, marking his fourth scholarship in two years.

Foluso Olusanya, a gifted Nigerian lawyer, has secured three competitive international scholarships, including the prestigious $40,000 NDDC Foreign Postgraduate Scholarship, to pursue a Master of Laws (LLM) at the University of Bristol, UK.
His academic journey began at Adekunle Ajasin University, where he earned an LLB with Second Class Upper in 2020. He went on to attend the Nigerian Law School, graduating with another Second Class Upper in 2022 and becoming a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
After law school, Foluso joined Babalakin & Co., one of Nigeria’s leading law firms, where he worked as an Associate Lawyer for two years. During this time, he developed a deep interest in sustainability and environmental governance, inspiring him to pursue postgraduate studies abroad.
In 2025, he was admitted into the University of Bristol to study Law, Environment, Sustainability, and Business—a program designed to explore how legal systems influence sustainable business practices.
In addition to the NDDC scholarship, Foluso also received the University of Bristol ThinkBig Scholarship and the Exeter Excellence Scholarship, placing him among the top 0.7% of over 30,000 applicants.
This marks his fourth scholarship in two years, including a prior full scholarship from Junior Achievement Nigeria for the ViM Programme at Lagos Business School.
Reflecting on his journey, Foluso shared:
“Just a year ago, I was learning about the Circular Economy in business school—now I’m taking that knowledge global. I wake up every day pushing to be the best version of myself. This new chapter is no different. End of an era, but to new beginnings.”
He expressed heartfelt gratitude to his family, friends, colleagues, and mentors for their support during what he described as an “anxiety-filled” but ultimately rewarding phase of his life.
