Pretty Lady Becomes First Nigerian to Bag Future Female Leader Award from a Spanish Top School

Cursory: The underrepresentation of women in leadership positions in many industries is an issue the IESE Business School recognizes and has chosen to show support for through initiatives like the Future Female Leader Award to promote gender diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

By recognizing 42 women from 20 countries, IESE Business School highlights the diverse talents and contributions women bring to the business world, showcasing the success stories of women in traditionally male-dominated industries to inspire other women to pursue their ambitions and break down barriers.

One of this year’s recipients is Meme Osuocha, a media, marketing, and tech professional from Nigeria and one of the four African women to receive the Future-Female Award.

Her dedication to promoting gender diversity in the business world and her commitment to improving the perception of Africans through positive storytelling have made a significant impact, inspiring others to follow in her footsteps.

Her passion for media, technology, people, culture, and marketing, combined with her commitment to supporting the growth of African businesses makes her a valuable asset to the continent and a worthy recipient of the Future Female Leader Award.

To celebrate, Meme Osuocha and 41 other recipients were hosted at the Women in Business Conference at IESE Business School to network, learn and share experiences among women of like minds, providing all nominated women with the opportunity to gain insights into the challenges and opportunities faced in the workplace, to exchange ideas and strategies for overcoming them. We are proud to have a Nigerian woman shine on a global stage with the goal of driving progress towards greater gender inclusion in the business world.

On receiving the award, Miss Meme said:

“I strongly believe that gender equity is not just a moral imperative but also a smart business strategy. As a woman who has worked in media, marketing, and tech for many years, I have seen firsthand the positive impact women can have on businesses, communities, and economies when empowered to succeed. When women are given the tools and resources to thrive, businesses thrive, communities prosper, and economies grow. That is why I will continue to advocate for women and play my part in ensuring we continue to work towards gender equity in all aspects of society.”

As the world celebrates International Women’s Day, Osuocha’s achievement serves as a reminder of the importance of empowering and celebrating women in business. Her story is a source of inspiration and hopes for women everywhere who aspire to make a difference in their communities and beyond.

Her work to create a platform that showcases successful African business leaders will provide much-needed inspiration and mentorship for young people in Africa, and ultimately contribute to the growth and development of the continent.

Congratulations to Miss Meme Osuocha for winning such a prestigious award and we look forward to seeing you conquer the world.
