Cursory: Dangote Granite Mines, a subsidiary of the Dangote Group, awarded scholarships to 60 students from five host communities. Dangote Granite Mines, a subsidiary of Dangote Group, recently granted scholarships to approximately 60 students from five communities where the company operates.
In a statement released by Dangote Industries Ltd.’s Media Personnel, Mr Francis Awowole-Browne, it was revealed that the scholarships were part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility efforts to support educational development in the host communities.
The Director of Human Assets Management at Dangote Projects, Mr Ebenezer Ali, explained that the scholarships aimed to alleviate the financial burden faced by parents in providing education for their children.
He further stated that these scholarships were established as part of the Community Development Agreement signed with the leaders of the host communities.
The company’s intention was to ensure that the communities were not left behind in terms of education and infrastructure development.
Ali encouraged the scholarship recipients to prioritize their education, as exceptional academic performance would potentially lead to automatic employment opportunities.
He expressed gratitude to the community leaders for fostering a peaceful environment, which has contributed to the harmony experienced by both the company and the communities.
He assured the communities of the company’s readiness to do its own part of the agreement in ensuring that it identified with the people at all times.“I charge the communities’ leaders to continue to support the management of Dangote Granite Mines by maintaining peace,” he said.
The Sopenlukale of Oke Sopen, Oba Adesesan Yussuf, expressed his gratitude to the management of Dangote Group for their support to the communities.
The monarch commended the company for providing scholarships, stating that it demonstrated their commitment to the community and their desire to contribute to society.
He emphasized the importance of not taking the scholarship for granted and urged the beneficiaries to appreciate it as a symbol of the company’s love for the host communities.
The monarch also encouraged community members to maintain peace, as a peaceful environment enables the company to provide better support to the communities.
Miss Grace Aregbe, a beneficiary and a student at Tai Solarin University of Education, expressed her appreciation to the company for the generous gesture. She acknowledged that the scholarship would greatly alleviate the financial challenges they would face in their education.
She promised that the beneficiaries would not let down the company and their parents and also prayed for the well-being of the Chairman of the company, Aliko Dangote.
