Minister of transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi said the estimated time for the completion of the Transportation University in Daura by the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) is September 2022.
The minister made the disclosure when he visited the site in Daura to assess the ongoing work on the project, yesterday.
Amaechi also revealed that the remaining seven structures at the university will be completed before September.
He said, “It appears they have finished all their structures. They said they still have seven buildings and those seven buildings should be ready by September.
“I have asked the permanent secretary to invite them for a meeting so that this school can start functioning from September.”
While giving details of the school earlier, the minister had said the project entails the construction of a primary and secondary school.
According to him, “The idea is that there should be a primary school in it, especially for those lecturers who will come from outside.
“There will be two building for the primary school, a secondary school and then the university.”
Also, while speaking on the Dala Inland Dry Port, he said, “If I say I am not impressed that would be a wrong word. They promised they would have completed by today. Have they completed the structures, yes, but they have not completed the landscape, but until they do the land scaping, once the land scaping is done, we can bring the president here to commission.”
On the Kano-Kaduna rail line and the people encroaching on it, the minister said until he speaks with the governor, he would not know the reason for that, adding however that even though they are encountering problems the best way to deal with it is to see the governor in charge of the place.
