A Lagos State Police Command arrested a driver after a Lagos State University student died from injuries sustained in a road accident in Lagos, with investigations ongoing.


A tragic road accident in Lagos has claimed the life of a student of Lagos State University (LASU), prompting the arrest of the driver involved.
The incident occurred in the Igando area on Saturday evening at about 7:00 p.m. According to the police, officers quickly responded to a distress call, with the Divisional Police Officer arriving at the scene shortly after the crash.
Preliminary reports identified the victim as a female student named Azeezat, who died from injuries sustained in the accident. Her body has since been taken to a mortuary.
Authorities confirmed that the driver allegedly responsible for the crash has been taken into custody, and the vehicle involved has been seized as part of ongoing investigations. The case has now been transferred to the Area Command for further inquiries and legal measures.
The police assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway and that appropriate legal action will be taken. Residents have also been urged to remain calm as the process continues.
