EFCC operatives conducted a midnight raid at private hostels in Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, arresting several students without explanation or warrants.

On Friday night, operatives from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) launched a midnight operation at private hostels within Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS), resulting in the arrest of multiple students.
Witnesses reported that the raid took place in the Kwakwalawa and Gidan Yaro areas of Sokoto, with numerous students being apprehended by the EFCC agents. The students shared that the operatives entered their hostels at around 4 a.m., arresting several individuals without warning.
“It felt like something out of a movie,” said one student who chose to remain anonymous. “At first, we thought they were kidnappers, but then we saw the EFCC insignia on their uniforms.”
The students alleged that the EFCC agents did not explain the reason for the arrests or present any warrants.
“This is unacceptable,” another student remarked. “We want to know why they arrested our friends. What were they looking for?”
