CURSORY : LASU mathematics lecturer emerges as overall best graduate, and receives award for the best Doctoral Thesis.
Dr Aminat Olawunmi Ige a Mathematics lecturer at the Lagos state university (LASU) will emerge as the Overall Best Graduating Doctoral Thesis Award Winner at the 54th Convocation of the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
Her thesis titled “O-Metric Spaces: A Novel Unification and Generalisation of Metric-Type Spaces with Applications in Fixed Point Theory” was named the best in UNILAG.
On 10th of January, this was disclosed in a statement posted on Facebook by LASU. In the statement, Dr. Ige, an alumnus of LASU was to receive the award of the overall best graduating doctoral thesis award and also award of the best in science, which comprises of the faculties of Engineering, medicine and sciences.
She was congratulated by the vice chancellor of LASH Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, who said the university community is proud of her.
The ceremony is scheduled to take on the 18th of January 2024 at the 54th convocation ceremony of the university of lagos.
