The Joint Admission Matriculation Board has said the University of Ilorin, University of Lagos, Akoka, and Lagos State University, are the first three institutions that had the highest numbers of candidates who picked them as first choice.


The University of Ilorin, University of Lagos and Lagos State University are the most sought-after universities for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations, The PUNCH reports.
This was disclosed by the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, during the 2023 JAMB Policy Meeting.
According to the List, the University of Ilorin was first, followed by the University of Lagos in second place, Lagos State University in third place, Federal University, Oye-Ekiti in fourth place.

- University of Benin,
- University of Nigeria,
- Obafemi Awolowo University,
- Nnamdi Azikwe University,
- Nigerian Defence Academy
- University of Ibadan
Prof Ishaq added that the institutions were recognized due to the attraction of a high number of applicants during the 2023 UTME application period.
