CORONAVIRUS: Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) have shut down the University in obedience to the order of National Universities Commission (NUC).


This is to inform the public that the authorities of Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) has ordered the closure of the University.
This accoridng to the University is an action to fight the spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19) in the Country.
The announcement was disclosed to the students via a memo signed by the Registrar of the University. The memo fully reads:
SUBJECT: NOTICE OF CLOSURE OF THE UNIVERSITY
The Federal Government has directed that with effect from Monday, March 23rd 2020, all Tertiary Institutions in the country should be closed for one Month. This is due to the COVID- 19 pandemic.
Consequently, the Vice-Chancellor has directed that the University should remain dosed for students for one month with effect from Monday, March 23rd 2020.
All students are advised to vacate the campus immediately.
