Students of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) who are interested in completing their studies in Ukraine now have the opportunity to do so.
This is as a result of a Memorandum of Understanding that was sealed by the university and the V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Ukraine, on Monday June 3, 2019, in the university council chambers.
Speaking shortly after the collaboration was sealed, the Vice-Chancellor of IAUE, Professor Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele, said that the event was a deliberate effort to ensure that students of the institution are offered global platforms to achieve their educational needs.
He noted that the pact was another milestone for the university, and assured the delegation from the Ukrainian university that Ignatius Ajuru University of Education has the right human resources and infrastructure for effective implementation of the partnership.
Responding, the leader of the delegation and Director of International Affairs and Collaboration, Navrotskyy Oleksiy, described the event as the first page of the partnership, adding that the students would be proud of it.
He said the terms of the partnership would be strictly effective, promised that it would be a nice experience, and thanked the management for the trust.
Meanwhile, the Registrar of the university, Mrs. Hope Kue-Ikoro, has commended the choice of IAUE for the collaboration, adding that management was holding on to the assurances of the Ukrainian university’s delegation to make the pact work.
She affirmed that students from the institution would meet the academic standard set by the partnering university in Ukraine, as she described IAUE as the fastest growing university in the south of the Niger.
Earlier, the Director of the University Advancement Centre, Dr Emmanuel Ibara, disclosed that intending students shall spend two years in IAUE, and proceed to the Ukrainian university to complete their studies, with a degree of that university awarded to them.
He also explained that participants who may wish to continue postgraduate studies after their undergraduate programmes will have such opportunity.
V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University was founded in 1804, making it the second oldest university in modern day Ukraine after the University of Lviv, and has over 25,000 students from across the world.
