Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) 49th Annual Accountants’ Conference 2019 Students’ Essay Competition is to engage the Nigerian Students intellectually and attract the best and brightest youths into the accountancy profession through the ICAN platform.

ICAN Students’ Essay Competition Eligibility.
The Competition is open to:
- All students in any field of study in ICAN accredited tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
NB: Members of the ICAN Governing Council, AAC Committee members and staff of ICAN, KPMG and their wards are not eligible for this competition.
ICAN Students’ Essay Competition Prizes.
1st Prize: £100.000 plus laptop, plaque, letter of commendation, all expenses paid to Abuja for the 48th Annual Accountants’ Conference, ICAN Professional Examination Scholarship with a value of N340,000 covering tuition, study text and examination fees,
2nd Prize: £50,000 plus laptop, plaque, letter of commendation, all expenses paid to Abuja for the 48th Annual Accountants’ Conferences, ICAN Professional Examination Scholarship with a value of N340,000 covering tuition, study text and examination fees.
3rd Prize: £25,000 plus laptop, plaque, letter of commendation, all expenses paid to Abuja for the 48th Annual Accountants, Conference, ICAN Professional Examination Scholarship with a value of N340,000 covering tuition, study text and examination fees.
How to Submit Entries for ICAN Students’ Essay Competition.
- Essay must be written in Microsoft Word and contain between 2000 words and 3000 words.
- Essay must be written in Time New Romans, font size 12 with double line spacing.
- Essay should contain abstract, introduction, main body, conclusion and references
- All entries must be accompanied with a letter of attestation from the participants’ Head of Department.
- participants must summit copy of their brief profile of not more than 15 lines in MS Word.
- Only the first 500 entries will be considered.
- Winning essays will be selected on merit based on content, grammar and style.
- The winning essays will be announced on Thursday, September 12, 2019.
- All entries must be received on or before 23:59 hours Friday, August 9, 2019. Entries received after this date would not be processed further.
