JAMB Reacts as Man Posts Purported UTME Question Showing “Double Answer”, Shares Photo

Cursory: Gideon Anyebe, a UTME candidate, raised concerns about a question with two possible answers during the exam, sharing a photo on social media. JAMB responded, stating the photo didn’t reflect its test interface and raising concerns about Anyebe’s use of electronic devices inside the exam hall.

A candidate, Gideon Anyebe, who took the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), recently raised a concern regarding a question he encountered during the exam.

Anyebe, using his X handle @GideonAnyebe1, shared a photo of a question he claimed had two possible answers and questioned why such a situation occurred.

In the photo shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), Anyebe wrote, “Why do we have this kind of double answer? Can I get an explanation please, and possible solutions?”

The question sparked discussions online, prompting a response from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

JAMB, in its response, stated that the photo in question did not represent its test delivery candidate’s view. Furthermore, JAMB raised concerns about how Anyebe managed to take a picture inside the exam hall despite strict instructions against bringing electronic gadgets.

“This is not JAMB’s test delivery candidate’s view. Even if it were, you may have some questions to answer. How did you take the picture after being warned not to visit the UTME centre with any form of electronic gadget?”

The examination body emphasized the importance of adhering to exam regulations and warned against the use of electronic devices during the Computer Based Test (CBT). JAMB’s response suggested that Anyebe might face consequences for violating exam rules if he indeed took the photo inside the exam center.
