In JAMB, what is the meaning of Special Consideration (Waiver)??
It means, additional requirement for a particular course in a particular school. If your school have a special consideration for either O’level Requirement, UTME Subject Combination or Direct Entry Requirement, then please take note of it.
Note sometimes in special consideration column, the school requirement might be slight different from the general requirement. We advice you know your desired school’s special consideration for your course. ITS NECESSARY else you might be denied admission.
UTME (JAMB) SUBJECT COMBINATION FOR INDUSTRIAL MATHEMATICS
Note that Subject that have asterisks (*) attached to it are COMPULSORY. You should chose one between the subjects that are italicize.
English Language(*), Mathematics(*), and any two of Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Biology and Agricultural Science.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)
(i) FUTA accept Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry only.
(ii) BENIN requires Mathematics, Physics and any of Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Science and Economics.
(iii) WESTERN-DEL requires Mathematics and any two (2) of Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Biology and Agricultural Science.
(vi) EBSU accepts Statistics but does not accept Agricultural Science.
(vii) CRUTECH requires for Biochemistry Chemistry, Biology and either Physics or Mathematics.
(viii) DELSU requires Mathematics, Economics, and any of Physics, Chemistry, Biology.
(ix) LAGOS requires English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any of Chemistry, Economics, Biology and Geography.
(x) BELLS requires Mathematics and any two (2) of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural science, Geography and Statistics.
O’LEVEL REQUIREMENT FOR INDUSTRIAL MATHEMATICS
Below is the O’level Requirement for Industrial Mathematics (UTME CANDIDATES)
Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Physics, Mathematics and any two (2) other Science subject.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)
(i) ESUTECH requires English Language, Mathematics and three (3) ‘O’ Level credit passes out of Physics, Statistics, Economics, Biology, Chemistry, Further Mathematics and Agricultural Science.
(ii) EBSU accepts two (2) other ‘O’ Level credit passes from Biology, Economics, Physics and Statistics.
(iii) BENIN accepts ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any three (3) of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science or Geography.
(iv) DELSU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes which must include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two (2) of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and further mathematics.
(v) IMSU requires ‘O’ Level credit pass in Chemistry and also accepts ‘O’ Level pass in English Language.
(vi) AAUA requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics and two (2) other Science subjects.
(vii) FUTA requires ‘O’ Level credit pass in Chemistry.
(viii) WESTERN-DEL requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Geography, any two (2) Science subjects.
(ix) LAGOS requires Five O/Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and any one of Economics, Chemistry and Geography.
(x) BELLS requires Five (5) O-level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any other three (3) Science subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural science, Geography and Statistics.
DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR INDUSTRIAL MATHEMATICS
Two (2) ‘A’ level passes from Mathematics, Physics, Economics or Chemistry
NCE merit in relevant subjects.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)
(i) EBSU accepts ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics and any one of Biology/Health Science, Chemistry, Economics, Physics, Statistics and Agricultural Science. It also accepts HND, ND upper credit and NCE merit respectively in the relevant programmes/subjects.
(ii) DELSU accepts at least two (2) ‘A’ Level GCE passes which must include Mathematics and any other Social Science and Science subjects.
(iii) FUTA accepts (a) two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Science subjects including Mathematics and Physics. (b) ND upper credit in Computer Science. (c) NCE credit in Computer Science/Mathematics, Computer Science/Physics, Mathematics/Physics.
(iv) BENIN – Same as in Mathematics.
(v) AAUA requires ‘A’ Level passes in both Mathematics and Physics and also accepts ND lower credit in Computer Science, Statistics or any other related programmes.
(vi) WESLEYUNI same as in Mathematics.
(xii) BELLS accepts Two (2) A level subjects to include Mathematics. O-level Credit Passes in English, Mathematics and any other three Science Subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, Geography, Statistics.
(viii) WESTERN-DEL accepts (a) two (2) ‘A’ Level passes to include Mathematics, Physics, Economics or Chemistry. (b) ND/NCE merit in relevant subjects.
(ix) ESUTECH requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes to include Mathematics. It accepts ND in Science courses.
(x) LAGOS accepts Very good passes in the following three (3) JUPEB/’A’-level subjects: Physics, Mathematics and any one(1) of Chemistry, Biology, Economics and Geography and requires ‘O’ level credit pass in Further Mathematics. Does not accept NCE.
