JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION FOR ARABIC STUDIES
Below is the JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION for Arabic Studies in faculty of Arts.
English Language(*), Arabic and two (2) subjects from Arts and/or Social Sciences.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:
- (i) KWASU requires two (2) other Arts subjects.
- (ii) MAIDUGURI requires Arabic and any other two (2) subjects
- (iii) ILORIN requires Arabic and any other two (2) Arts/Social Science Subjects.
- (iv) ABU requires Use of English, Arabic and any other two Arts or Social Sciences subjects.
- (v) FED-KASHERE requires Arabic and two Arts or Social Sciences
- (vi) KASU requires Arabic and two other subjects in arts or Social Science.
- (vii) SOSU requires Arabic and two (2) subjects from Arts and/or Social Sciences.
- (viii) FED-DUTSINMA requires English Language, Arabic and any two of Arts or Social Sciences Subjects.
O’LEVEL REQUIREMENT FOR ARABIC STUDIES
Below is the UTME Requirement for Arabic Studies in faculty of Arts
Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Arabic and three (3) other relevant subjects.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:
- (i) ILORIN accepts five (5) āOā Level/Senior Arabic & Islamic Secondary Sch. Certificate Exams (SAISSCE) of National Board for Arabic & Islamic Studies (NBAIS), SSC of WAEC, NECO and NABTEB or their equivalent. Credit passes to include English Language, Arabic and three other Arts/Social Science Subjects.
- (ii) LASU accepts IS in lieu of Arabic or candidates who indicate interest in Foreign Language learning and possess basic knowledge of Arabic.
- (iii) LASU accepts qualifications of recognized Arabic Institutions from candidates who might not have offered Arabic at the ‘O’ Level.
- (iv) UMYUK may accept Higher IS or Senior IS Results.
- (v) KWASU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Arabic, IS, plus any other two (2) Arts subjects. Qualifications from a recognized Arabic school will be acceptable in lieu of āOā Level credit pass in Arabic.
- (vi) UDU accepts ‘O’ Level credit pass in English Language, NCE General English and High Muslim Certificate.
- (vii) UMYUK requires five (5) āOā Level credit passes or its equivalent including English Language, Arabic, IS and two (2) other relevant Arts\Social Science subjects and āOā Level credit pass in Mathematics.
- (viii) ABU requires Five Credits O/L in Arabic, English and three Arts or Social Science Subjects.
- (ix) FED-KASHERE requires Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Mathematics, Arabic and any two from Arts and Social Science
- (x) KASU requires Five āOā level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Arabic and two other subjects in Arts or social Sciences.
- (xi) SOSU requires Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Arabic & other three (3) Arts or Social Science subjects at not more than two sittings.
- (xii) FED-DUTSINMA requires Five āOā level Credits to include: English Language, Mathematics, Arabic and any two of Arts or Social Sciences.
DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR ARABIC STUDIES
Below is the Direct Entry (DE) Requirement for Arabic Studies in faculty of Arts.
- Two (2) āAā level passes in Arabic and any other Arts subject.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:
- (i) ABU accepts Two āAā level/IJMB passes including Arabic at IJMB/ NCE, or a minimum of Merit at Diploma in Arabic or with other subjects. .
- (ii) ABUJA accepts a minimum of ten (10) points in NCE or ND upper credit in addition to the āOā Level requirements.
- (iii) ILORIN accepts NCE merit in Arabic or Social Sciences subjects.
- (iv) ILORIN accepts; a) At least two (2) āAā Level passes to include Arabic and any other Arts/Social Science Subject. b) Unilorin Diploma and other relevant Diploma: BUK, ABU, KWASU.) (This satisfies both A/L and O/L admission requirements by Direct Entry) provided the candidates meet other requirements for admission. c) Candidates who did not offer Arabic at U. T. M. E. but meet U. T. M. E. entry requirements may be considered into 100 level. d) Candidates who do not offer Arabic at O/L but meet UTME entry requirements may be considered for admission. e) Candidates with Senior/Higher Islamic Studies Certificate as O/L for entry qualification for Arabic Studies and related programmes.
- (v) KWASU accepts IJMB, Cambridge, NCE and SISC.
- (vi) LASU accepts a) Two (2)āAā Level passes in Arabic and any other Arts subject plus five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in other related Arts subjects. b) Qualifications obtained from recognized Arabic Institutions are accepted in lieu of Arabic ‘O’ Level subjects for the fulfillment of other entry requirements. NCE merit in Arabic is acceptable.
- (vii) IBADAN accept NCE merit in Arabic and other Arts or Social Science subjects.
- (viii) FED-KASHERE accepts Two ‘Aā Level credit passes in Arabic and any other Arts subject
- (ix) KASU accepts NCE in Arabic/Islamic Studies minimum of merit pass. Two āAā level passes in Arabic/Islamic Studies. IJMB in Arabic/Islamic Studies with 7 points and above. ND Arabic/Islamic Studies with minimum of Lower credit in addition to āOā Level requirements.
- (x) SOSU accepts N.C.E/Diploma in Arabic and Islamic Studies or Diploma in Shariāah with a minimum of merit.
- (xi) FED-DUTSINMA accepts Two āAā level passes in Arabic and one other Arts subject. ND/NCE with good grades in the relevant area.
