In JAMB, what is the meaning of Special Consideration (Waiver)??
It means, an additional requirement for a particular course in a particular school. If your school has a special consideration for either O’level Requirement, UTME Subject Combination, or Direct Entry Requirement, then please take note of it.
Note sometimes in the special consideration column, the school requirement might be slight different from the general requirement.

O’LEVEL REQUIREMENT FOR NUTRITION AND DIETETICS
In Faculty/College of MEDICAL SCIENCES: Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics.
In Faculty of Agricultural Science: Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.
DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR NUTRITION AND DIETETICS
In Faculty/College of MEDICAL SCIENCES: Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry, Biology and Physics plus the UTME requirement.

(i) IBADAN requires Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
O’LEVELSPECIAL CONSIDERATION FOR HUMAN NUTRITION/NUTRITION AND DIETETICS UNDER MEDICAL/PHARMACEUTICAL/HEALTH SCIENCES;
(i) BOWEN requires five (5) ‘0’ level credit passes in English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/ Agricultural Science, Geography/Economics.
(ii) IBADAN same as in Medicine and Surgery.
DIRECT ENTRYSPECIAL CONSIDERATION FOR HUMAN NUTRITION/NUTRITION AND DIETETICS UNDER MEDICAL/PHARMACEUTICAL/HEALTH SCIENCES;
(i) ABUAD requires three (3) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
(ii) BOWEN requires at least two (2) ‘A’ Level passes to include Chemistry and any of Biology, Botany, Zoology, Agricultural Science, Physics or Geography.
(iii) IBADAN preference will be given to the Professional Certificates of a) Nigeria Registered Nurse or equivalent b) Own Certificate of Food Science and Applied Nutrition c) ND in Agriculture; d) Public Health Inspectorate Certificate.
FOR FACULTY OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES
JAMB SPECIAL CONSIDERATION FOR HUMAN NUTRITION/NUTRITION AND DIETETICS UNDER AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE
FUNAAB requires Chemistry, Biology and Physics/Mathematics.
O’LEVELSPECIAL CONSIDERATION FOR HUMAN NUTRITION/NUTRITION AND DIETETICS UNDER AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE
(i) IMSU accepts Biology/Agricultural Science/Home Economics, Physics/Mathematics, Chemistry and ‘O’ Level pass in English Language
(ii) UNN, in addition to the UTME requirements, ‘O’ Level credit passes in Chemistry, Biology or Food and Nutrition or Agricultural Science and Physics or Mathematics.
(iii) UMUDIKE – As in Food Science and Technology
(iv) BELLS requires a minimum of ‘O’ Level pass in Physics
(v) FUNAAB does not accept Agricultural Science in lieu of Biology.
DIRECT ENTRYSPECIAL CONSIDERATION FOR HUMAN NUTRITION/NUTRITION AND DIETETICS UNDER AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE
(i) UNN accepts: (a) ‘A’ Level passes in two (2) of the following subjects: Chemistry, Biology (Botany and/or Zoology), Agricultural Science, Physics or Mathematics. (b) ND, NCE, HND in Nutrition and Dietetics/Home Economics/Agricultural Science, Food Science plus the UTME requirements into 200 or 300 levels. (c) Certificate in Nursing /NCE in relevant subjects. Candidate must also satisfy the UTME entry requirements.
(ii) UMUDIKE – As in Home Economics.
(iii) FUNAAB accepts: (a) NCE or ND upper credit in Nutrition and Dietetics, Food Science, Home Economics from a recognised institution plus the UTME requirements into 200 level. (b) Certificate of Registered Nurse of Nigeria plus the UTME requirements.
