In JAMB, what is the meaning of Special Consideration (Waiver)??

It means, additional requirements for a particular course in a particular school. If your school have a special consideration for either O’level Requirement, UTME Subject Combination or Direct Entry Requirement, then please take note of it.

Note sometimes in special consideration column, the school requirement might be slight different from the general requirement. We advice you know your desired school’s special consideration for your course. ITS NECESSARY else you might be denied admission.

JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION FOR MARKETING

Below is the JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION for Marketing in Faculty of Administration.

English Language(*), Mathematics, Economics plus one (1) other relevant Subject.

VIEW SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS (WAIVER)
  • (i) ABU requires Use of English, Economics, mathematics and any Management or Social Science Subject.
  • (ii) COOU, UNN and UYO –Same as in Banking and Finance.
  • (iii) EVANGEL accepts Mathematics or Economics plus any two (2) relevant Arts or Social Science subjects.
  • (iv) JOS requires Mathematics and any other two (2) subjects from Principles of Accounts, Commerce, Business Methods, Statistics, Government or Economics.
  • (v) LAUTECH requires any other two (2) Science subjects from Physics, Chemistry or Biology/Agricultural Science.
  • (vi) EBSU – Same as in Accountancy.
  • (vii) PHC requires Mathematics, Economics and any other subject from Government/History, Geography, Commerce, Literature in English, CRK/IRK, Accounting (Financial/Business), Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics.
  • (viii) UNIZIK- Economics is not compulsory.
  • (ix) DELSU requires Mathematics, Economics or Commerce and one other Social Science subject.
  • (x) MAIDUGURI requires Mathematics, any of Principles of Accounting/Commerce/Economics and any other Social Science subject.

O’LEVEL REQUIREMENT FOR MARKETING

Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Mathematics and any three (3) relevant subjects.

VIEW SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS (WAIVER)
  • (i) ABU requires Five ‘O’ level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two (2) Subjects.
  • (ii) COOU – As in Banking and Finance.
  • (iii) JOS requires ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any three (3) subjects from Principles of Accounts, Commerce, Business Methods, Statistics, Government or Economics.
  • (iv) PHC accepts Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two (2) subjects from Government/History, Geography, Commerce, Literature in English, CRK/IRK, Accounting (Financial/Business), Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics.
  • (v) IMSU require ‘O’ Level credit pass in Economics.
  • (vi) EBSU – Same as in Accountancy.
  • (vii) UNIZIK requires Mathematics, Economics plus any other Arts/Social Science subject.
  • (viii) DELSU requires five (5) credit at SSC ‘O’ Level or its equivalent obtained at not more than two (2) sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two (2) Social Science subjects.
  • (ix) RSU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two (2) other subjects.

DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR MARKETING

Below is the Direct Entry (DE) Requirement for Marketing in faculty of Administration.

  • Two (2) ‘A’ level passes chosen from Accounting, Management, Government and Geography.
VIEW SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS (WAIVER)
  • (i) ABU accepts Two ‘A’ Level / IJMB passes in Management/Social Science Subjects one of which must be Economics. A Minimum Merit in ABU Diploma in Insurance, Management, Banking or Accounting.
  • (ii) ABSU requires ‘A’ Level Mathematics.
  • (iii) EBSU accepts HND/ND or NCE pass at credit/merit level in relevant programmes in addition to ‘O’ Level requirements. ND must be at upper credit level.
  • (iv) COOU accepts ND lower credit and also require Direct Entry applicants to posses UTME requirements.
  • (v) EVANGEL and DELSU – As in Banking and Finance.
  • (vi) IMSU and PHC – No Direct Entry.
  • (vii) JOS accepts a) Passes at A’ Level/IJMB or an approved equivalent examination in Accounting, Business Management or Economics. b) Holders of the following qualifications may also be considered for admissions into 200 level: ND lower credit in Accounting, Financial Studies, Business
  • Administration, Banking and Finance, Insurance or any other Business course, from any recognized Institutions (Polytechnic, Technical Institutions, etc.).
  • (viii) LAUTECH requires ‘A’ Level passes in Economics/Business Management, Chemistry, Physics, Geography or Mathematics.
  • (ix) PHC accepts Two (2) Advanced level GCE or HSC or JUPEB or IJMB passes in Mathematics and at least one (1) of Economics, Statistics, Accounts including UTME entry requirements. OND (upper credit) or HND (Merit Pass) in either of Business Administration, Accounting/Auditing, Banking and Finance, Marketing, Purchasing and Supply, Actuarial Science/Insurance, Secretarial Administration, Office Management, Psychology, Public Business Studies, Catering and Hotel Management or Business Management, Advertising, Public Relations and Public Administration, including UTME entry requirements.
  • (x) MCPHERSON accepts a) JUPEB/IJMB/ATS (Final) of ICAN or approved equivalent in related programmes. b) AIB or three (3) year Diploma or other professional qualifications in relevant programmes.
  • (xi) UNN as in Accountancy & Banking and Finance.
  • (xii) UYO as in Insurance.
  • (xiii) RSU in addition to ‘O’ Level requirements accepts: (a) OND/ND (Upper Credit) relevant to the discipline. (b) HND (Lower Credit) relevant to the programme. (c) Degree (Third Class) relevant to the programme. (d) At least two (2) ‘A’ level passes at GCE preferably in the Arts and Social Sciences. (xiv) DELSU requires a) GCE A’Level or HSC pass in Management, Economics and at least one other subject. b) HND or ND with a grade not lower than upper credit. c) Foundation/Intermediate Examination passes of recognized professional bodies such as Chartered Institute Management of Nigeria (CIMN), Chartered Institute Marketing of Nigeria (CIMN).

Please from the lists of universities offering marketing course, I can’t find UNIBEN, UNICAL, UI, LASU. Is it not that it’s missing by mistake because the jamb brochure PDF I downloaded include them with others? Because I’m confused from lists without mentioning others

And reason why I preferred this school is because of their facility for pwds and other factors. I await your honest feedback before thinking of question, thanks!
