UTME/JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION FOR METALLURGICAL AND MATERIALS ENGINEERING
Below is the UTME/JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION for Metallurgical and Materials Engineering in faculty of Engineering/Environment/Technology;
English Language(*), Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)
- (i) FUTA requires Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.
- (ii) FUTO requires Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.
- (iii) LAGOS requires English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.
- (iv) ABU requires Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
O’LEVEL REQUIREMENT FOR METALLURGICAL AND MATERIALS ENGINEERING
Below is the UTME Requirement for Metallurgical and Materials Engineering in faculty of Engineering/Environment/Technology;
- Five (5) SSC credit passes to include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English Language and one other Science subject.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)
- (i) ESUTECH requires ‘O’ Level credit pass in English Language.
- (ii) FED-OYE EKITI requires five (5) credits at SSC (or its equivalent) including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and one other Science subject from Further Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Biology/Agricultural Science.
- (iii) FUTO requires at least five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and any other science subject in not more than two (2) sittings. At least a Pass is required in Biology.
- (iv) LAGOS requires Five O/Level credit passes in English, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
- (v) UNN as in Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering. (vi) FUTA requires five (5) SSCE credit passes or its equivalent at a maximum of two (2) sittings in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other Science subject.
- (vii) ABU requires five ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other Science subject.
DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR METALLURGICAL AND MATERIALS ENGINEERING
Below is the DIRECT ENTRY (DE) Requirement for Metallurgical and Materials Engineering in faculty of Engineering/Environment/Technology;
- A’ level passes in any two (2) of Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)
- (i) ABU accepts: a. ‘A’ level/ IJMB Passes in Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry. b. ND in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering or related field with Upper Credit. c. HND in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering or related field with minimum of Lower Credit.
- (ii) ESUTECH accepts NCE/ND/HND/ first degree in the relevant subjects.
- (iii) FED-OYE EKITI requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
- (iv) FUTA accepts; a) OND Upper Credit Level or its equivalent, in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering or related discipline in recognised institutions; or b) Good passes in Advanced Level of General Certificate of Education or its equivalent in at least two of the following: Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.
- (v) FUTO requires; a) At least two (2) ‘A’ Level passes not below Grade C in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. b) ND/HND at Upper Credit level in Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geology or Engineering. c) First Degree in Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geology or Engineering. d) Very good passes in three JUPEB subjects namely Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. It does not accept NCE. Candidates must in addition meet UTME ‘O’ Level requirements.
- (vi) IGBINEDION as in Civil Engineering.
- (vii) ILORIN – Same as in Agricultural and Biosystem Engineering. Relevant Programmes include Chemical Engineering Technology, Foundry Engineering Technology, Glass/Ceramics Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Metallurgy, Mineral Processing Engineering Technology, Mineral Resources Engineering Technology, Biomedical Engineering Technology, Polymer Technology, Welding and Fabrication Technology, Wood and Paper Technology.
- (viii) LAGOS accepts Very good passes in JUPEB subjects: Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. A ‘level Cambridge HND (Upper Credit) and OND (Distinction) in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering.
- (ix) OAU accepts ND/HND upper credit in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering into part II and III appropriately.
- (x) OAU requires ‘A’ Level passes in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or ND/HND upper credit plus UTME requirements.
- (xi) UNN as in Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering.
