JSS3 Student Rescued from Prostitution, Exploited by Multiple Men Daily for ₦1,000 Each

A 14-year-old JSS3 student from Akwa Ibom was rescued by Ogun State’s Amotekun security team from a sex trafficking ring where she was forced to engage with 12-20 men daily for ₦1,000 each, prompting widespread outrage and calls for justice online.

A sex trafficking operation has been dismantled by Ogun State’s Amotekun security team, leading to the rescue of a 14-year-old girl who was forced into prostitution.

The JSS3 student, who was brought in from Akwa Ibom, was coerced into having sexual encounters with 12 to 20 men each day, with each transaction earning her ₦1,000.

Her trafficker, identified as Mrs. Edem Joy, subjected her to severe control tactics. This included shaving her head, administering drugs, and compelling her to take oaths with blood, the Bible, and traditional Hausa customs to deter her from escaping.

She was promised freedom after one year of exploitation. The incident has ignited a wave of outrage on social media, with many demanding justice for the victim.

Here are some reactions from concerned netizens:

@PrettyMfon: “People without a conscience are ruining the lives of these minors. I’m relieved they’ve been caught; justice must prevail.”

@AdesolaBlessin9: “My goodness! I hope the woman and those who patronize her suffer the consequences.”

@DcSpicie: “Shouldn’t they face life sentences? Why exploit children? Who are these men supporting this?”

@SizweBansi_: “The government isn’t doing enough… many such places exist throughout Ogun and Lagos.”

@UchayOkolee: “Shame on the men doing this, on her parents, and on society as a whole! Shame on all of you!”

@FirstSo14272266: “There are many victims hiding in hotels across Lagos, from Mazamaza to Agboju and down to Alakija, Ijebu Waterside, etc.”

@larry4uall: “These children have been initiated into a traumatic lifestyle; I pray they find hope for a new life!”

@geedayyy: “Parents, please only have children you can care for. This is tragic on so many levels, and both the trafficker and clients should be prosecuted.”
