Kogi Varsity Expels Four Students Over Misconduct Allegations

Confluence University of Science and Technology expelled four students and suspended another over alleged misconduct cases including fighting, assault, unauthorized photo sharing, and alleged lesbian activities.

The management of Confluence University of Science and Technology has expelled four students and suspended one other student over various cases of misconduct within the institution.

The disciplinary actions followed investigations conducted by the university’s Students’ Disciplinary Committee, with the recommendations later approved during the institution’s 30th Regular Senate Meeting held on April 29, 2026.

According to official letters signed by the Deputy Registrar for Academic Affairs, Mr. Eli Usman Gbadafu, two female students — Ezekiel Precious Omeneke, a 200-level Economics student, and Aku Joy Chinyere, a 200-level Accounting student — were expelled over allegations of involvement in lesbian-related activities.

Another student, Musa Abdulhakeem Onimisi from the Department of Petroleum and Gas Engineering, was expelled after he was accused of stabbing a fellow student during a physical altercation.

The university also dismissed Dominion Kolade, a 200-level Physiotherapy student, over allegations that he cloned and circulated photographs of two female students without their consent.

In a separate disciplinary case, Agbakaru Kosikochukwu, a 200-level Radiography student, received a one-session suspension after being found guilty of fighting and physical assault.

The institution explained that the disciplinary measures were aimed at maintaining order, encouraging proper behaviour among students, and protecting the academic environment of the school.

Vice-Chancellor Abdulrahman Salawu commended members of the disciplinary committee for what the university described as a thorough and fair investigation process.

The university management further reiterated its commitment to producing graduates who excel academically while also displaying good character and discipline.
