Extremely Brilliant Girl Wins Intensive Competition, Goes Home N200,000 Scholarship

Cursory: Faith Nkemakolam of Lireni Schools, Lagos, clinched the title of Efiko of Badagry in an academic competition by the Efiko Initiative, earning a N200,000 scholarship and a computer set for her school. Founded by Temiloluwa Solomon, the initiative aims to celebrate academic excellence. The initiative plans to expand its reach through similar competitions and online quizzes to promote knowledge acquisition among Nigerian students.

In a thrilling academic competition organized by the Efiko Initiative, Faith Nkemakolam, a student of Lireni Schools, Lagos, emerged as the top performer, clinching the prestigious title of Efiko of Badagry. Nkemakolam’s stellar performance earned her a scholarship prize of N200,000, along with a computer set for her school.

The Efiko Initiative, founded by marketing strategist and business developer, Temiloluwa Solomon, aims to celebrate and reward academic excellence while fostering a culture of meritocracy in Nigeria. The initiative conducted tests in English Language, Mathematics, and General Knowledge, with students from various schools vying for the coveted scholarships.

Oluwatosin Oyesomi of VictoryRock Schools, Lagos, secured the second position, earning a scholarship prize of N100,000, while Princewell Nwokoye of His Grace Schools, Lagos, claimed the third spot with a scholarship prize of N50,000. Additionally, four other outstanding students received one-year scholarships in their respective schools, while six more students received consolation prizes for their commendable performance.

During the scholarship presentation ceremony, Solomon emphasized the importance of academic excellence and encouraged the winners to continue prioritizing their education. He reiterated the Efiko Initiative’s commitment to promoting knowledge acquisition among Nigerian students, emphasizing the enduring value of academic achievement.

He said “The goal of the Efiko Initiative is to rev up the quest for knowledge among young Nigerian students while proving to them that academic excellence is still very rewarding.

“As the recipient of several scholarships from my primary school level to my secondary school level, I understand how far gestures like this can go in shaping the future of the younger generation,” he said.

Looking ahead, Solomon revealed plans to expand the reach of the Efiko Initiative by organizing similar competitions in other locations and launching online quizzes to engage young students in learning and rewarding their efforts.
