It was yet another milestone as history was made, today, Saturday, 28th November, 2020 at Lagos State University ( LASU) as Awori Welfare Association of Nigeria( AWAN) laid the foundation of a 300- seater theatre hall, which when completed would have a lecture hall for students, offices and a secretariat.

The project site is opposite the Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building, sandwiched by the new library building, under construction and the old Students’ Affairs Building, Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos.
The Chief Host, the Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University ( LASU), Professor ‘Lanre Fagbohun, SAN, NPOM, in his remarks said” I am wearing two caps, representing management as well as the council and on the other hand, a son of Awori. Today is history. NUC quota gives us, up to 8,000 admission capacity, but, we can only take 6,000, because, we don’t have enough facilities to accommodate all, but, with this facility, you have helped to solve part of the problem”, the elated Vice-Chancellor began.
Speaking further, Professor Fagbohun noted that when completed, the building would be a veritable source for accreditation and credibility, saying the building means a lot to the university.
