Rita Quayson, a 43-year-old mother of five, is enrolled as a student at Apesokubi D/A Junior High School (JHS) and is among the participants in the 2023 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) held at Worawora Senior High School (SHS) in the Biakoye District of the Oti Region.

In an interview with Adom News, Madam Quayson conveyed her strong determination to excel in the exam, motivated by her desire to take advantage of the free Senior High School (SHS) policy and secure a brighter future.

She revealed that her decision to return to education was influenced by previous disappointments stemming from her inability to secure a health assistant job due to her lack of reading and writing skills.

Despite encountering initial mockery, Rita Quayson courageously overcame various challenges to commence her educational path, enrolling in JHS 1 at the age of 40.

Noble Gli, the assistant headmaster of Apesokubu D/A JHS, commended Rita as an exceptional role model, serving as a wellspring of motivation for both educators and students.

Rita’s resolute pursuit of education to overcome obstacles and attain individual aspirations, coupled with her unwavering commitment to her studies, serves as an inspiring illustration for those facing similar situations.
