The Vice Chancellor of Maduka University, Prof. Charles Ogbulogo, has declared that the graduate the University intend to produce are those who are job creators by partnering with local companies to enhance entrepreneurship training through vocational skills development.

Prof. Charles Ogbulogo, the Vice-Chancellor of Maduka University in Ekwegbe-Nsukka, Enugu State, has highlighted the institution’s commitment to producing graduates who are equipped to be job creators rather than job seekers.
Speaking to journalists in Nsukka after inspecting facilities at JOFRAN Global Concept Ltd. and G-Techno Interleague Nig Ltd., Prof. Ogbulogo stressed that the university’s primary aim is to ensure its students gain entrepreneurial skills that will empower them to create jobs. This visit was part of an ongoing entrepreneurial partnership between the university and these companies.
The Vice-Chancellor expressed his satisfaction with the facilities at both companies and revealed plans to formalize the collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance entrepreneurship training.
“Our vision at Maduka University is to make sure that our graduates leave with at least two vocational skills, enabling them to become job creators instead of job seekers,” Ogbulogo stated. “I am impressed with the facilities I have seen today, and we will soon sign an MoU with these firms to further our entrepreneurial goals.”
He further elaborated, “We are examining these facilities to see how we can replicate them at our university for the benefit of our students. As an entrepreneurial institution, Maduka University is committed to ensuring that its students graduate with skills that make them self-reliant and capable of creating jobs.”
Chief Ifeanyichukwu Okpo, the Managing Director of JOFRAN Global Concept Ltd., expressed enthusiasm for the partnership with Maduka University. Okpo, who also serves as the Director of the Centre for Agriculture at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, described his company’s expertise in bee farming, honey production, processing, and exportation, all conducted according to international standards.
“This is why my company supplies honey to major hotels in the country, exports honey and its by-products, and represents Nigeria at international honey exhibitions,” Okpo explained.
Similarly, Mr. Peter Onyeke, an engineer and Managing Director of G-Techno Interleague Nig Ltd., detailed his company’s operations, which include machine fabrication and the processing of agro-food, vegetables, and spices.
“We fabricate various types of machines that process agro-food, vegetables, and spices, which we supply to the market,” Onyeke noted. “For example, we have machines that process ‘Okpeyi Nsukka,’ packaging it for sale in markets and supermarkets nationwide. We also manufacture machines for peeling cassava, grinding, pressing out water, and frying it, as well as machines for crushing plastic bottles, among others.”
Onyeke, who also owns Onward Secondary School Nsukka, expressed his excitement about working with Maduka University to help produce graduates who will be job creators.
“This is a model that other universities in the country should adopt so that students graduate as self-reliant individuals capable of creating jobs,” he said.
The Vice-Chancellor was accompanied on the facilities inspection by Dr. Dan Ochi, Vice President (Business Development) of the Nsukka Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
