Young Man Emerges as Overall Best Graduating Student With 4.85CGPA, Gets N1m Award Prize

Cursory: Takon Roland Osaji, a young Nigerian graduate from the University of Calabar (UNICAL), achieved the highest academic distinction with a CGPA of 4.85 out of 5.

Takon Roland Osaji, a young Nigerian, has emerged as the top-performing graduate of the University of Calabar (UNICAL).

With an impressive CGPA of 4.85 out of 5, he attained this distinction, according to UNICAL’s vice chancellor, Florence Obi.

Roland was part of the 10,117 students who graduated from the 2023/2024 set, as reported by Daily Post.

In recognition of his outstanding academic achievement, it was reported that the first-class graduate from the Department of History, received a N1 million Student Union Government (SUG) prize.

The VC remarked, “Roland Takon of the Department of History and International Studies (2021/2022 Session, with Matric No.: 18/032144145 is the overall best student and valedictorian.

“He has a CGPA of 4.85 on the scale of 5. He is the proud winner of the N1,000,000 (One Million Naira) SUG Prize for the Overall Best First Class Graduate.”

During the convocation event, Samuel Imo, an alumnus of the university, commended Roland for bringing pride to his department.
