Cursory: Feanyi Eze, a former okada (commercial motorcyclist) man in Nigeria, overcame challenges to pursue education and transform his life, through hard work and determination. He eventually graduated from university and received a scholarship to further studies in the United States.

Ifeanyi Eze, formerly a motorcycle taxi driver known as an Okada man in Nigeria, had a burning desire to pursue education and transform his life. Despite facing numerous challenges and adversities, he triumphed and eventually graduated from university. During his third year of studies, he purchased a motorcycle from a vendor named Yusuf for N55,000.
To save money and support his education, Ifeanyi undertook research and organized seminars for fellow students, earning between N4,000 and N7,000 per project.
He took on the responsibility of financing his education, relieving his parents of the burden of paying his school fees after his first year. In addition to his academic pursuits, Ifeanyi worked as a secondary school teacher and sold firewood to make ends meet.
He embraced his role as an Okada man without shame, faithfully believing that his life would eventually take a positive turn. Feanyi acknowledged that his journey to the United States, where he currently resides, was made possible through a scholarship.

He still finds it surreal, as he never imagined that someone from a rural background like himself could reach such heights. He attributed his success to the power of education, unwavering determination, and a stroke of good fortune.
He said no one could control luck, but everyone could control education and persistence.

I used to be an okada man!
Yes, back in my university days. I bought the motorcycle for N55k from an aboki man, mallam Yusuf.
In 300 level, I made some money from my fellow students. I got paid between 4k to 7k naira to research and prepare seminar for students. I saved those money and bought a bike.
But before then, I had stopped collecting school fees from my parents after my 100 level. I want to sponsor myself and lessen the burden on my parents. I started taking responsibility early!
I was teaching in a secondary school and selling firewoods to meet up. Then I bought the bike, bam bam, okada man ![]()

I had no shame. I was doing my okada work with good faith, believing and working that God will change my story one day. Omo, e work oo!
If not for scholarship, I don’t think I could be here now. It’s still like film. I didn’t know anyone can go quickly from being a village boy in the backwater to standing my ground.

Thanks to education, persistence and luck! Yes, unfortunately no one can control luck. But we can control education and persistence.
While your personal chi is working behind the scenes to bring you luck, make sure you are getting strong in learning (education) and hardwork (persistence).
If you see a man skilled in what he does, he will stand before kings, not with unknown gonmen!
Your story has not finished, it will change soon.
Believe!
