CURSORY: A genius mathematician from Nigeria has been awarded a PhD scholarship of € 20 million in a foreign university.


The brilliant young man identified as Maniru Ibrahim is a Nigerian first-class graduate of mathematics.
He graduated from Usman Danfodio University, in Sokoto, Northwest Nigeria in 2017.
He has been awarded a fully funded scholarship to further his PhD studies for free at an Ireland-based university known as Limerick University.
The scholarship awarded to him is a €20 million funded program by the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) Centre for Research Training (CRT) in Foundations of Data Science.
The programme provides a tax-free stipend of €18, 500 per annum for 4years and an additional allowance for travel and accommodation costs related to visits to CRT partner institutions, industry and enterprise partners, international collaborators, and attendance at national and international conferences.
The program is the first of its kind and he is the only African among the shortlisted candidates. ICT-related problems will be dealt with in order to make life and Technology easier.
