NOUN Welcomes 25,342 New Students at 28th Matriculation Ceremony

The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has matriculated 25,342 students, with the Vice-Chancellor urging them to uphold academic integrity and leverage the flexibility of the university’s digital-based Open and Distance Learning system for success.

At its 28th matriculation ceremony held in Abuja, the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) officially admitted 25,342 students into its various academic programmes, with 18,698 enrolling in undergraduate courses and 6,564 in postgraduate studies, including doctoral degrees.

Addressing the new intakes, Vice-Chancellor Professor Olufemi Peters urged them to embrace academic integrity, resilience, and digital learning, emphasizing that the university’s Open and Distance Learning (ODL) system offers flexible, high-quality education comparable to traditional institutions.

He highlighted the success of NOUN graduates in various fields and encouraged students to fully utilize digital tools and learning resources to succeed both academically and professionally.

Peters reaffirmed the university’s commitment to producing well-rounded, innovative individuals, stressing that students’ classrooms now extend beyond physical walls to wherever learning is possible.
