NUC accredits 49 of 51 courses in LASU

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved 49 out of 51 courses presented to it by the Lagos State University (LASU) for accreditation.

In a statement to release on Monday, Ademola Adekoya, the spokesperson of LASU, said 96 percent of the programmes put up before the commission earned full or interim accreditation.

Adekoya said, of the 51 courses assessed, 49 were successful in the accreditation exercise.

The spokesperson also quoted Olanrewaju Olanrewaju-John, the head of LASU’s directorate of academic Planning, as saying that “this marked the best ever performance by a vice-chancellor in their first year in office.”

LASU’s flagship programme, Faculty of Law, received back-to-back full accreditation for all its programmes, the first-ever in the university,” the statement read.
