University of Ibadan (UI) Admits Only 4,000 out 16,000 Candidates who sat for Post UTME of 2018/2019 Academic Session.


Authorities of University of Ibadan (UI) on Tuesday 18th June 2019 held an orientation programme for the newly admitted 4,000 students out of over 20,000 who sat its Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (POST UTME), the News Agency of Nigeria reports.
According to NAN, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) of the university, Prof Kayode Adebowale, presided over the three-day event.
The DVC said, “The number of candidates for the university was more than 20,000.
Adebowale added, “We want to ensure that students that are coming in are qualified.”
He also said UI had taken proactive steps to address the accommodation challenges students often faced.
The total students admitted in 2018/2019 session is actually higher when compared to the 3,514 students out of 53,513 students that applied for 2017/2018 Session.
