Makasusi Sunusi, a primary school teacher has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the Jigawa State High Court sitting in Kazaure.
The verdict was passed on the teacher on Wednesday for raping a minor.
The minor is a 3-year old girl whose name was not disclosed.
She attends the same school which Sunusi teaches.
The judge, Justice Hussaina Adamu Aliyu sentenced the Sunusi to life imprisonment for the offense of rape as prescribed by Section 3 of the Jigawa State Penal Code Miscellaneous Amendment, 2014.
She said the prosecution counsel had proved their case beyond reasonable doubt and therefore the accused has been found guilty of the said offense.
The prosecution counsel narrated that Sunusi lured the pupil and raped her in the school on the 4th of February earlier this year.
Five witnesses were presented by the prosecution as well as a medical report to prove its case.
