Again, Kogi Poly Expels 15 Students For Exam Misconduct

Barely a week after the management of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja expelled ten students for examination misconduct, the academic board of the institution has thrown out another set of 15 students for a similar offence.

The expulsion of the set of fifteen students followed the consideration of the report of the Central Examination Misconduct Committee by the academic board of the institution.

In a statement signed by the polytechnic’s head of Public Relations and Protocol Unit, Mrs Uredo Omale, which was made available to Daily Trust on Sunday, the fifteen students were found to have contravened relevant sections of the students’ information handbook.

She said there were therefore recommendations by the central examination committee of the institution for disciplinary action as a deterrent measure to others.

“The offences ranged from impersonation, bringing of illicit materials that were relevant to the examination into the examination hall and others”, the statement said.

According to Daily Trust, the fifteen expelled students were from different departments in both National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) classes.

The Rector of the institution and Chairman of the Academic Board, Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman commended the members of the board and reiterated the management’s commitment to upholding the dignity of the polytechnic through strict adherence to rules and regulations.

He, therefore, warned students of the institution to be law-abiding, as no stone would be left unturned to ensure absolute law and order in and around the campuses of Kogi State Polytechnic.
