OAU Student Completes 58 Hours of Hand Wash-a-thon, Negative Rumor Spreads

Cursory: The 200-level student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife Osun state, Subair Enitan, early midnight on Monday completed 58 hours of hand wash-a-thon and rumored to have landed in the hospital

In a bid to break a record as the the longest hand cloth washing, Subair Enitan, commenced the quest on Friday afternoon at the Student Union Building Motor park inside the University campus with thousands of students rallying around her.

On Monday, around midnight, Enitan completed the 58 hours after surpassing her initial plan of 50 hours hand wash-a-thon to break the Guinness World Record.

After the contest, she was taken in the School Ambulance to the institution’s clinic for a medical check.

Speaking before heading to the clinic, she said;

“I am very fulfilled to have completed the task right in front of my mum, friends and colleagues who thronged this venue to show love and support my ambition.“

Seeing the ambulance that took her to the school clinic for a proper medical check, it was rumored that she had been rushed to the hospital after completing her hand wash-a-thon.

In a video posted via the official X handle for the marathon, Enitan was seen clarifying the rumor. In her words;

“First of all, I’m sure you can see I’m very much okay. So to the people trending saying I landed in the hospital. I didn’t land in the hospital and these are my hands. I am better. I’ve been in my house with family members, my team members. I’ve been sleeping. I woke up this evening to take pictures. I have been very fine. Just dey play o. Nothing is wrong with me.”

The Guinness World Record is yet to confirm Enitan’s record-breaking attempt.
