The Oyo State Police Command has confirmed the death of a student from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), identified as Babalola Marvelous Ishola, who was allegedly shot dead after attending a sign-out party.
According to reports, Babalola’s body was found unresponsive by the roadside around 5:38 p.m. on Wednesday. The discovery was made after a tip-off regarding an unattended male corpse prompted police to dispatch a team to the scene, where the victim was identified through personal items.

Confirming the victim’s identity, the Dean of Student Affairs at LAUTECH stated that Babalola was indeed a registered student of the university. His remains have been transferred to the LAUTECH University Teaching Hospital morgue for preservation.
In response to the tragedy, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) Monitoring Unit launched a sting operation that led to the arrest of 16 suspects believed to be linked to the shooting.
The police have assured the public that investigations are ongoing to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
