A tragic incident occurred at Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, resulting in the loss of two students’ lives.
According to The Punch, the students passed away after inhaling fumes emitted by a power generator positioned near the window of their residence overnight.
Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye Aya, confirmed the incident on Thursday, February 8. SP Aya identified the deceased as Bilikisu Eleojo, aged 20, and Ibrahim Haliru.
The generator, placed in close proximity to the victims’ window, caused them to fall asleep and subsequently succumb to the fumes before dawn.
The lifeless bodies of the two individuals were discovered in their room by neighbors during the early hours of Thursday.
