In a statement released by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya, on Thursday, it was disclosed that the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, had deployed a specialized Air Component of Police Security, consisting of helicopter crews trained for aerial surveillance and a monitoring team, along with the state’s Technical Intelligence Unit.

The reinforcement was part of the ongoing rescue operation to combat the suspected bandits responsible for the abduction. The statement emphasized the IGP’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of Nigerians, particularly the safety of students in various educational institutions across the country.

The statement read, “The reinforcement is in response to the IGP’s unwavering passion about protecting lives and property of all Nigerians, especially the safety of our Children in various Schools in the country.

“The diligence and indomitable spirit of all the combined team led to the rescue of additional seven victims, bringing the total to 21.

“It’s not over until it is over, so we should not rest on our oars. Instead, all hands must be on deck to ensure all are safely rescued and perpetrators are brought to deserved justice.”

The coordinated efforts of the combined team led to the successful rescue of an additional seven victims, bringing the total number of rescued students to 21. However, the statement stressed the importance of remaining vigilant and maintaining the momentum to ensure the safe rescue of all remaining victims and the apprehension of the perpetrators.
