The Joint Admission And Matriculation Board (JAMB) registration have commenced last week the registration process is frustrating and difficult for prospective candidates across the country.

Prospective 2022 Joint Admission and Matriculation Board candidates in the country are finding it difficult with the rigorous process of registering for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. The registration process is frustrating, stressful, and beyond human comprehension.
Candidates are told to send NIN to 55019 or 66019 to generate profile code at the cost of N50 but the code is often not sent even after several trials incurring additional costs. After generating it, the candidates are asked to make payment and acquire pin code, which is also another tedious process.

The centralization of the registration centres, which may require candidates from more than two local governments to register around just one CBT centre, is creating serious pains and frustration as candidates, who have already made their payments in the bank, are compelled to queue under the scorching sun for days just to complete a simple registration process that a simple mobile app can achieve.
One cannot help wondering how in today’s world that is highly driven by technology, the JAMB teams are still groping in the dark. Under the current JAMB leadership, a supposedly “improved automated system” is now running slower than the manual and also taking us back to the 80s. This situation underscores the necessity of the use or appreciation of technology by many public office holders in Nigeria today.
In today’s world, computer illiteracy is an unpardonable offence.
It is very shameful that in this dispensation our children are made to queue up under the sun just to complete a registration process of JAMB that their counterparts in other African countries achieve in minutes with their smart phones from the comfort of their homes.
