The three best graduating students for the 2020/2021 academic session at Caleb University, Imota in Lagos have been rewarded with a N5,000,000 cheque each for their hard work.


The Chairman/CEO of Atlantic International Refinery and Petrochemical Ltd., an indigenous Oil company, Dr. Akintoye Akindele in fulfilment of his promise during the 11th convocation ceremony of the university presented a cheque of N5m to each of the best male, female, and best Post Graduate students.
Iredia Ejehi of the Computer Science Department had emerged Caleb University overall best female graduating student with a CGPA of 4.92; Ifezue Humphrey also of the Computer Science Department emerged the overall best male graduating student with a CGPA 4.84 while Mrs. Olufunso Fasuyi emerged the best graduating Post-Graduate Student.
Akindele also offered automatic employment to the trio while he handed over a cheque to cover the school fees of 22 newly matriculated students.

The philanthropist who was the 11th convocation lecturer at the university disclosed his plan to build an Information Technology Centre, as well as an African History and Archaeology Centre at the Imota Main Campus of the University.
While delivering his lecture titled ‘The Rhetoric and Reality of Youth as Game Changers’, he urged Nigerian students to emulate game changers like the best graduating students.
According to the University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nosa Owens Ibie, who was at the presentation of cheques alongside the university registrar, Mr. Mayokun Olumeru and family members of the recipients; extolled the virtues of the donor, describing him as a fine intellectual who keeps to his promises.
“Dr. Akindele is an embodiment of love and selfless service. A man blessed with a broad vision, abundant patience, a good sense of humour, a large heart filled with excellence, knowledge and courage of conviction. The Academic is well known for his simplicity, humility, and generosity.”
